The Vision

Few things are more satisfying to a worship-team than seeing people engaged in worship: hands raised, voices singing, faces full of joy and gratitude, showing connection with Jesus. These are the moments worship-teams live for, teams mostly made up of volunteers who give their time and energy for free, because they want others to connect with God.

Worship Aware was written by a volunteer for volunteers. Local churches don't always have incredible talent pools, but that shouldn't keep church music mediocre. Worship Aware's highest priority is to facilitate relationship between God and people; its next priority is to show you what you're capable of. Your current standard can be exceeded, reaching heights you never thought possible, using the knowledge in this book. Additionally, the Worship Aware business model contains secondary goals regarding ethics, excellence, and relational connection:

To facilitate a deep spiritual connection to God through musical worship

To teach worship-team members ~ both stage members and sound techs ~ musical and technical concepts to understand music beyond simple "reproduction" or "memorization"

To help singers and musicians understand technical concepts. To help sound-techs understand musical concepts

To create, improve, and/or heal relational connection between worship-team members, family members, and church members in general

To inspire worship-team members to be aware of their total surroundings, seeing beyond their own specific role

To help worship teams recognize the creative nature inside of them as they are made in the image of Creator God

To allow understanding of musical concepts to lead to musical creation, as wisdom and understanding were precursors to Creation
(described in Proverbs 3:19)

To generate ultimately creative music that attracts unchurched people, using God-inspired musical creativity to reach the unsaved and point them to Jesus

To create exceptionally affordable products, most of which are "one-time" purchases that do not require subscriptions

To balance work/life/ministry obligations in such a way that does not damage or sacrifice the family unit

To manage business finances and growth in such a way that does not create business or personal debt

To create Christian music ~ both for church/worship-service use and everyday listening ~ that legitimizes the concepts presented in Worship Aware

To completely avoid the use of A.I. in all creative processes, including musical, literary, videographic and photographic (capture or editing), digital content, and any other artistic processes. Worship Aware contains the foundational belief that worship is a sacrifice that requires human effort and resources, and all activities related to worship and its creative processes should not be created through effortless shortcuts, but through the creative nature of human beings who are created in the image of a creative God (2 Samuel 24:24, Hebrews 13:15).
